Success Isn't Guaranteed.
How vibe-coding and new tools made building fun again — even for a non-developer like me.
Success isn’t guaranteed.
When I started my work life, I told my then-boss that if they bought me the Adobe Creative Suite (no subscription back then 👴🏻), I’d learn how to use it. Sure enough, I was soon designing banners, brochures — even yoghurt packages. Great success!
Fast forward a year or two, and I took a web communications course — Chiperish for what essentially was web development. I wanted so badly to learn how to create websites from scratch that I even completed the course. But I had to admit: I wasn’t having fun, and honestly, I wasn’t very good at it.
Fast forward 15 years… 🥹
In the past few months, I’ve:
» Created multiple prototypes using vibe-coding tools like v0
» Set up my iPad for coding and deployments (yes, it worked!)
» Built an alpha version of my portfolio site, and
» just yesterday, I managed to deploy it live with my own domain
But honestly, the biggest credit goes to v0, ChatGPT, and Google Gemini.
So what’s the point in all this?
Now, even for a non-developer like me, creating prototypes and publishing websites isn’t just bearable — it’s actually fun and inspiring.
I see more and more talent around me, at the very least, prototyping with vibe-coding tools — and many are building the foundations of the product startup they’ve always dreamed of.
It’s a tremendous release of new creative power, and I genuinely hope this movement helps make our beloved Finland thrive again — because real growth and prosperity will ultimately come from growth companies.
Question: If you joined a vibe-coding hackathon this weekend, which part of your job would you automate out of existence?
